The 2024 American Paint Horse Association (APHA) Western National Championship Show in Las Vegas was successfully held at the South Point Arena & Equestrian Center from October 3 to 6. The following is a specific introduction:
Basic Information
- Scale: There were 137 Western National Championship classes and 20 all-around awards, attracting 294 horses and nearly 1,450 entries, with an increase of 71.9 percent in total horses and nearly doubling the number of entries over 2023 numbers.
- Participants: The show welcomed more than 90 first-time Western National Show attendees. Exhibitors and horses came from all over the Western United States and Canada.
Event Highlights
- Awards: The event had various championship classes and all-around awards. The all-around champions in different categories included Smokin Jeans in the open ranch category, A Lot Like Diamonds in the open solid paint-bred ranch category, and many others.
- Activities: In addition to the competition, exhibitors and fans also participated in a Markel/APHA Professional Horsemen clinic, Ride the Pattern, Equine Bingo, Costume Challenge, Boot Scramble and more.
- Sponsors: Kimes Ranch generously sponsored all novice youth and youth walk-trot entry fees, and the California Paint Horse Association provided complimentary trailer unloading assistance.
